The making of timber accurate scaled canoes by first Inuit people was both a teaching aid, anthropological object and item for sale. Thus example with a handwritten paper label stating it was purchased in Canada by William Clarke Penfold about 1908. They are rare to survive, this example with excellent provenance & date.
